Electric Cars - It's Nothing New

Electric cars are the future right? Who killed the electric car? Electric cars will get us off of imported oil, right? Probably not. It turns out, the problems with electrics cars have been the same for more than 100 years. A century ago, gues what the range was on a Detroit Electric - yep about 100 miles, just like the Nissan Leaf. Granted the Detroit Electric would only go about 30 miles per hour but that seems like a very minor gain for 100 years of science. Check out this report from AOL's Translogic.

The truth is, gasoline is more efficient. There is no big revolution coming for electric cars, that's been the hope for 100 years and it's time to get over it.

  1. Nice post friend, it seems we are very slow in development, i think we have technology but we are unable to make technology useful to common user which is the first reason why automakers doesn't move forward over 100 yrs of time
