2011 Mazda2 - Seems Fine to Me


Here's the problem with reading too many car magazines: they're not speaking to the people who actually buy cars. They're writing to people who wish they owned a Porsche 911 or a BMW M5 and think everything else is terrible. In short, they're writing to themselves. Of course, they go on like they're doing Tonight Show numbers circ 1973, but really they're just living in the past. They hate cars like the Mazda2 - it's underpowered, they say, and it's got an outdated automatic transmission, which is another complaint. Really? Seems fine to me.

With 100 hp, the 2011 Mazda2 feels plenty powerful. Is it going to win at Le Mans? No, but it is a fun car to drive - it's both entertaining to drive and has a high-quality interior. The seats are comfortable, and the back seat isn't impossible to use. The 2011 Mazda2 is mechanically related to the Ford Fiesta, so that's good - the Fiesta is probably the best subcompact out there.

At just $16,000 for a nicely equipped Mazda2, I say ignore all the supercar fans. Go test drive a Mazda2, it's a well-made little car that will have you re-thinking just how much car you really need.

    I'm really satisfied after watching the price list of this Mazda. But I need to see the different features of this Mazda 2.

Affordable Fuel Sippers

Used cars like this 2016 Toyota Corolla LE are a great choice for a fuel-efficient, affordable car. Updated April 2026 Don't let high gas prices convince you to get a new car just to "save money." Sure, you might save money at the Chevron station, but if that new car results in an $800 per month payment, then how are you actually "saving" money? You're not. If people are serious about using less gas and fewer resources, then just driving something used, like a 10-year-old Toyota Corolla, is great. Non-hybrid versions of the Nissan Altima and Honda Accord come close to 40 MPG highway.  Used hybrids are good too - look at a used Toyota Prius c (50MPG), Hyundai Elantra Blue (54MPG), or a Honda CR-V Hybrid (38MPG). Mercury Messenger - Ford, Please Build This Car

Here's the last Mercury that was really worth getting excited about - sure, the Milan is OK, but imagine a Mercury that people under 70 would buy. Sort of like a modern Cougar (let's just pretend the late 90s Cougar never happened). Since this was a concept, details are scant. The idea was to build a sort of Mustang but with the luxury of a Mercury. Under the hood is a 4.6-liter V8 - 300 hp isn't out of the question. As Mercury continues to languish, I can't help but think fondly of Mercury's of the recent and distant past.
