Mazda Hits Record Sales for June 2026

Mazda often gets overlooked when it comes to quality, reliability, and fun to drive. Most people know about the MX-5 Miata and CX-50, but  vehicles like the CX-50, 70, and 90 often get overlooked, 

But this is likely an optics issue, as Mazda likely doesn't have a big marketing or advertising budget compared to brands like Toyota or Chevrolet. 

Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) recently reported total June sales of 37,167 vehicles, an increase of 11.3 percent compared to June 2025. Year-to-date sales totaled 201,834 vehicles sold, a decrease of 4 percent compared to the same time last year. Yet, Mazda just had the best-ever June on record. 

Sales highlights include:

  • Best-ever June total sales 
  • Best-ever June sales for CX-90 MHEV
  • Best-ever June sales for CX-70 MHEV
  • Second-best June in CPO program history


One thing that's likely leading to Mazda's success is attention to detail. The interior and exterior design elements give each vehicle a pricier vibe than price alone suggests. 

The color choices on the CX-50 and the interior of the CX-90 give Mazda vehicles a Volvo-like quality. Record sales for Mazda? No one should be surprised.

Used cars like this 2016 Toyota Corolla LE are a great choice for a fuel-efficient, affordable car. Updated April 2026 Don't let high gas prices convince you to get a new car just to "save money." Sure, you might save money at the Chevron station, but if that new car results in an $800 per month payment, then how are you actually "saving" money? You're not. If people are serious about using less gas and fewer resources, then just driving something used, like a 10-year-old Toyota Corolla, is great. Non-hybrid versions of the Nissan Altima and Honda Accord come close to 40 MPG highway.  Used hybrids are good too - look at a used Toyota Prius c (50MPG), Hyundai Elantra Blue (54MPG), or a Honda CR-V Hybrid (38MPG). The prices are incredible. Here are just a few examples: CarGurus - in New Jersey, a 2023 Nissan Leaf with 21,000 miles for $10,000 Capital One Auto Navigator - in Atlanta, a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 4Matic Sedan with 46,000 miles - $33,000. This was an $80,000 car when new!!  Cars.com - in Dallas, a 2024 Kia Niro EV with 11,000 miles - $20,000.  All of these cars, and others just like them, will still be under warranty. Mercedes-Benz has a 10-year, 155,000-mile warranty on some EVs. Most electric cars have an 8-year / 100,000-mile warranty on the battery and drive components.
