Jeep Brand Introduces 2027 Jeep Wrangler JL-2A

The year-long Twelve 4 Twelve commemorative vehicle program is nearing its conclusion, and the new 2027 Jeep Wrangler JL-2A marks the 11th of 12 special-edition releases. The series has previously included the Rockslide, Rewind, Laredo, Smoky Mountain, and six other limited-production models celebrating key milestones, nameplates, and moments from Jeep history.

Vintage Inspired

Inspired by the 1945 Willys CJ-2A, the first Jeep vehicle designed for civilian use, the JL-2A pairs Wrangler Rubicon capability with heritage styling. Unique exterior details include the return of Gobi paint, exclusive 17-inch retro wheels finished in Joose. Joose is the orange color that graces the wheels and tow hooks, but you can also get the whole thing in that bright orange.  Body-color fender flares and commemorative badges are part of the look too. Four specific colors are offered – Gobi (the color shown above), ’41 (an Army green type color), Sting Gray, Bright White, and Joose. The package also includes body-color fender flares and special badging.

Modern Creation

Inside, the JL-2A features a Wrangler-first combination of Heritage Tan Nappa leather and Bison Brown trim, accented by Desert Orange stitching and other CJ-2A-inspired touches that reinforce the model's connection to Jeep's civilian origins. This version of the Wrangler is probably the nicest interior I’ve seen on any trim level.  The JL-2A can be had as a two-door or a four-door.

For those of you scoring at home, there should be one more Wrangler Twelve 4 Twelve. Will the final version be ultra-lux or a crazy, stripped-down rock crawler? It should be out in October – hopefully we can get an in-person look at this year’s LA Auto Show.
