Even Smaller Engine for Mini? 3 Cylinder Could be Coming

According to AutoBlog, the next Mini Cooper might be good for 50 mpg - not because it's a hybrid but thanks to a smaller three cylinder turbocharged engine. The base 2010 Mini Cooper already gets 37 mpg on the highway which isn't bad. Direct Injection and a small turbo should keep performance at expected Mini levels too.
