A typical electric car battery warranty is for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Toyota, Rivian, and Mercedes have incredible warranties on their batteries. Toyota hybrids are covered by an impressive warranty as well. Electric cars aren't for everybody. I’ve had an electric car for about a year and a half, and here are some of the pluses and minuses:  The short version is, I don't think I'd get an electric car again. The ownership experience has not been bad. Even the sales experience (I have a Kia) was leaning toward "pleasant." Still... Kia's EV6 had a makeover in 2025.
